Today is our last day of college before three weeks off for the Easter holidays, I plan to have all 30 pages of my book written by the time we are due back in college (2nd of May) For each of the 10 chapters I have a certain amount of planned events to have happened in the three pages, this is so I don't go over my page limit.
Thursday 5th April
Everything going to plan
Friday 13th April
A tiny bit behind plan, only 5 pages done
Tuesday 17th April
I'm halfway through the Easter holidays and I've only written 7 pages, I intend to get the rest done soon because I don't want to be behind schedule.
Sunday 29th April
All 30 pages have been written and I've drawn the first illustration out of 30 so I can define the style I want the other 29 to be in. I have also looked up possible places for printing.
Friday 4th May
I talked to the people at Staples, Vistaprint, Truprint and Computer world about printing. Only Staples and Computer world did double-sided printing, and they only did it on normal white paper. This wouldn't be a good idea as with such flimsy paper the images/text on the other side could be seen through the paper. Therefore I have decided to print at home so I can use cream card instead. Started on thumbnail sketches and bought card for printing.
Tuesday 8th May
Thumbnails finished. First 5 pages done.
Saturday 19th May
Five pages done on Wednesday and Friday, if I keep on schedule should be finished on the 30th
Friday 25th May
On schedule. Bought fake green leather for binding and gold stickers for the title. I now have all the equipment for binding.
Wednesday 30th May
All images finished. Setting them up in Photoshop document with the text ready for printing. Beta tested as well, the text by Connor and the images by Alicia.
Wednesday 6th June
Tested printing, tested sowing the pages together and binding. Started printing. Finished all A sides of the 16 pages needed but printer broke on page 1 of the second set of four and now refuses to print properly.
Monday 11th June
Attempts to fix the printer have been unsuccessful, covers are ready and first four pages are sown together. Just waiting for an opportunity to reprint page 5 and do the side B's of pages 6-16.
